Our Vision

Welcome, to our family.

RJ Miranda is a non-profit organization that was created based on a vision of love. We have decided to honor our loved ones in the most practical way possible- by creating a safe environment that will allow people to thrive and realize their full potential. We aim to eradicate housing instability by offering assistance and support to those in need, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to pursue their dreams. Our goal is simple- we plan to share the support and love we have for each other, into the community. And in return, we will watch the beauty that comes from people not only daring to dream, but feeling empowered to accomplish those dreams.

We’d like to introduce RJ, one of the biggest inspirations for the RJ Miranda Foundation.

RJ is an adorable, loving, energetic 5 year old who has given an immeasurable amount of purpose to the people lives around him. Born into a hard working family, it’s no surprise he enjoys learning, and loves investigating everything that is new to him.

When RJ was born, it was undeniably clear he was meant to be here and would change the trajectory of his families’ lives for the better.

RJ experiences life with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This means he sees and interacts with the world in a much more creative way than the “average” person. He speaks, learns and moves in a way that is so intrinsic, it’s as natural as the breath you and I just took.

A word from RJ’s mother- "When RJ was first diagnosed, I wondered if I had done something wrong, or if there was a way to “fix” his differences. Since learning more about ASD, I’ve come to understand it isn’t something to be cured, it's a part of who RJ is, and always will be.”

ASD is one of the many things that makes RJ the little boy that steals the heart of anyone who sees him. He’s just like every other kid, he loves Peppa pig and Sesame Street, loves to swing and play on the trampoline, and is mastering the skill of tracing.

ASD is known to be accompanied with several challenges, mainly due to stigmas and limitations our society can be known to put on people. The truth is, our society isn’t used to people who are “different,” so it takes a dedicated, loving family to often seek out resources that foster an environment that understands their needs enough to help them thrive.

A word from RJ’s mother- “There is a glaring lack of resources with ASD. I sought out services like ABA therapy, speech, and occupational therapy, embarking on a journey of support and growth alongside RJ. But as RJ grows, my thoughts inevitably turn to his future as an adult male…”

RJ Miranda was founded for RJ and anyone who’s differences have changed their circumstances in life. An endeavor born out of necessity and love. The foundation serves as a beacon of hope, providing a safe haven for people whose needs are not being meet enough for them to envision a life that inspires them. Th RJ Miranda foundation was built to offer essential resources that create empowering individuals who want to explore their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.

A word from RJ’s mother- “For me, this foundation is more than just a lifeline—it's a lifeline for families like mine. It's a guiding light, helping us navigate RJ’s transition into adulthood with hope, dignity, and love. ASD isn't just a diagnosis; it's a journey. And the RJ Miranda Foundation, is committed to ensuring a journey filled with opportunity, growth, and above all, love. I trust the RJ Miranda Foundation with RJ, because it was a space created for people like him.”

On behalf of the RJ Miranda Foundation, we’re elated to see and create a more beautiful world with the help of atypical eyes.

The RJ Miranda foundation was also largely, inspired by a woman who lived a life that was a symphony of service.

Miranda’s service first began in a classroom in Los Angeles, California, where she transformed education into a fun and engaging experience. From preschoolers to high school students-  her students adored her. Even today, her students say her influence shaped their lives well into adulthood. She changed their view on education and inspired them to pursue diverse career fields that they once, only thought was possible in their dreams.

Helping build dreams in real life. This was Miranda’s impact not only inside, but outside the classroom, as well. She was boundlessly compassionate, a caretaker and willing to lend helping hands and heart for anyone in need.

This was clear in her work of embracing children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Miranda was a woman who embraced everyone as equals-and believed that with the right support, anyone with challenges can overcome their struggles. This dedicated, trailblazing mindset fostered a safe environment that helped blossom generations of smart, dedicated people that believed they could take on the world, regardless of their circumstances.

Miranda’s love stretched across several state lines, too. In Laurel, Mississippi she answered the call of service. She relocated to care for her aging parent, but ended up changing the community in only a way, she knew how. Through her wise counsel, prayer and unwavering support, her leadership left an undeniable mark of love everywhere she went. Along the way, she never stopped checking back in on her life-long students, or  “kids” as she would call them, cementing their bond in what we can only describe as magical.

Even in the face of a relentless battle with cancer, Miranda's resolve to serve never faltered. She continued to be a teacher and put a smile on everyone’s face that was around her.

As Miranda's earthly journey drew to a close, she left behind a legacy of love and service.

Miranda was beautiful, thoughtful and a true beacon of light on earth. She enjoyed jazz music, arts and crafts, ministry, but above all, she enjoyed people.

Although the accolades we speak are in past-tense, we are proud to say Miranda’s spirit lives on in her students, and now, every person the RJ Miranda Foundation is able to help.

With both RJ’s future and Miranda’s legacy as our beacons-  we not only know why we do it, but also the blueprint of how we’ll do it.
